March’s Flower – Violet

Violets bloom in Japan during the middle of March.  This flower grows along the road and although it is quite reserved, its’ elegant appearance delights its’ viewers.

One of Nippon Kodo’s products called Hana-No-Hana was created by the incense expert of the Meiji era, Yujiro Kito. Hana-No-Hana was created to represent the 3 flower fragrances of Rose, Lily, and Violet. Hana-No-Hana is has been enjoyed for over 100 years as one of the original perfume scented incense products.
